Presentation
SBRC Workshops are satellite events that offer opportunities for discussions focused on selected topics, adopting alternative work dynamics to the SBRC main track (which may include the presentation of articles, tutorials, lectures and/or panels, etc). The workshops enrich and complement SBRC by focusing on emerging topics, and enabling the submission and exchange of ideas on ongoing research work, as well as a more in-depth discussion on already consolidated issues in the areas of Computer Networks and Distributed Systems.
For its thirty-seventh edition, the SBRC organizing committee invites researchers to submit proposals for workshops to be held in conjunction with the Symposium covering topics of interest to the Computer Network and Distributed Systems community. In addition to the traditional themes, proposals for workshops that address emerging and/or cross-cutting themes, such as Smart Cities, Internet of Things, Blockchain, Quantum Computing, and Communication, 5G networks, Artificial, and Computational Intelligence Applied to Network Management, etc. are strongly encouraged and very welcome.
In this edition, the workshop proposals should be submitted via JEMS. As in previous years, the workshops may last for a full day or half a day, favoring the most convenient structuring of the workshops according to the topic addressed.
Instructions for submission of proposals
Proposals for workshops should include the following items:
- Title of the workshop.
- Name, e-mail and link for the institution of each of the workshop organizers.
- Brief technical description of the workshop, focus, and justification for the subject to be dealt with in the context of an SBRC workshop (max. one page).
- Description of the workshop dynamics, including estimates for the number of lectures, panels, tutorials, etc. and/or the number of articles accepted.
- A preliminary list of program committee members (if applicable), which may include a preliminary version of the call for papers.
- Expected number of participants and duration of the workshop (one full day or half a day).
- The infrastructure needed to carry out the workshop.
- In the case of a proposal for a new edition of a workshop previously held in SBRC, please include:
- A brief history of previous editions;
- The number of articles submitted and accepted and the number of participants in the last three editions.
The evaluation of the proposals will take into account the workshop’s potential to attract participants, produce good results, and address emerging topics that are cross-cutting to the main SBRC track and that are of interest to a substantial portion of the community.
