O TCP \u00e9 o protocolo padr\u00e3o para transfer\u00eancias, mas os algoritmos de controle de congestionamento (CCAs) &#8211; que escolhem quando mandar pacotes e quantos pacotes mandar &#8211; hoje s\u00e3o muito diversos. Para entender o impacto da diversidade de CCAs na Internet, analisamos quais CCAs s\u00e3o os mais populares na Internet. Propomos um novo sistema, DTW-Net, para determinar o algoritmo de qualquer servidor na Internet atrav\u00e9s da an\u00e1lise de &#8220;bottleneck queue&#8221; no nosso testbed. Depois, mostramos como diversos CCAs competem por recursos quando partilham o mesmo cabo na infraestrutura, utilizando uma nova metodologia que analisa o uso de CCAs em diversas aplica\u00e7\u00f5es reais, como YouTube, p\u00e1ginas web, e videochamadas. Como resultado, mostramos que novos algoritmos como o TCP BBR de Google podem resultar em injusti\u00e7a quando competem contra algoritmos tradicionais como o TCP.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Bio:<\/strong> Justine Sherry is an assistant professor at Carnegie Mellon University. Her interests are in computer networking; her work includes middleboxes, networked systems, measurement, cloud computing, and congestion control. Her recent research focuses on new opportunities and challenges arising from the deployment of middleboxes &#8212; such as firewalls and proxies &#8212; as services offered by clouds and ISPs. Dr. Sherry received her PhD (2016) and MS (2012) from UC Berkeley, and her BS and BA (2010) from the University of Washington. She is a recipient of the SIGCOMM doctoral dissertation award, the David J. Sakrison prize, paper awards at USENIX NSDI and ACM SIGCOMM, and an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.
