Presentation<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Today’s telecommunications industry is still engaged in adopting active mechanisms for sharing infrastructure (e.g. energy, space, antennas, hardware, etc.) or specific capabilities\/resources (e.g. Virtual Network Operator – MVNO) for the provisioning of resources. Thus, the forthcoming softwarized infrastructures should expect broader approaches for sharing physical or even virtualized resources as a spearhead for network applications and functions that promote incentives and gains to all stakeholders across multiple verticals. In this scenario, the concept of slicing emerges as the basis for the delivery of services in softwarized infrastructures based on network, processing and\/or storage resources, providing dedicated and adapted services to the needs of different verticals, focused on the specific requirements of the tenants for a variety of services such as: high definition video (HD), virtual reality (VR) and V2X applications. Thus, the first WSlice (Workshop on Theory, Technologies and Applications of Slicing for Softwarized Infrastructures) aims to integrate researchers and developers from both academia and industry who are developing research, projects and prototypes centered on the concept of slicing in the broader sense. In this way, the WSlice emerges as a forum for technical presentations of ongoing research and relevant activities in the areas of cloud computing and virtualized infrastructure, services and applications in several areas, bringing together researchers and practitioners who actively participate in the provisioning of slicing solutions in these areas. Finally, this workshop aims to be an environment for the establishment of multi-institutional collaborative networks and groups of technical and scientific competence, as well as to encourage the discussion of incipient topics and still not defined directions within its scope.<\/p>\n
